Detached Accessory Buildings and Accessory Structures are permitted in District R-1 and include, but are not limited to, the following:

A. Noncommercial greenhouses and garden storage buildings.

B. Garages and Driveways for the use of the occupants of the Dwelling located on the Lot on which such Garages and Driveways are located.

C. Patios, Decks, Stoops and similar structures, provided that if a Patio, Deck, Stoop or similar Structure is located in the minimum Side Yard or Minimum Rear Yard, the floor and side walls or fencing of any such Patio, Deck, Stoop or similar Structure shall not exceed the height requirements for Fences and Walls and shall be constructed in accordance with Section 5-135.

D. Pools having a depth of less than two feet (2') and all other Pools, other than Pools referenced in Section 5-115.E below.

E. Outdoor Recreational Facilities, including Pools having a depth greater than two feet (2'), for which the following conditions are met:

1. Each Outdoor Recreational Facility must also conform to such additional requirements and conditions, including, but not limited to, the height, placement and intensity of lighting, and the size and appearance of any Walls or Fences, as the ARB, after reviewing the application for a building permit, may deem necessary to prevent such Outdoor Recreational Facility from adversely affecting the value or enjoyment of neighboring property.

2. Pools having a depth greater than two feet (2') shall be entirely enclosed and separated from adjoining property by a protective Fence or other permanent Structure at least four feet (4') in height and which otherwise meets the requirements of the International Swimming Pool and Spa Code, as incorporated by Section 5-1024.2. The protective enclosure described herein shall be provided with Gates equipped with locks that meet the requirements set forth in the International Swimming Pool and Spa Code, as incorporated, which Gates shall be locked when the Pool is not attended.

3. Pools may include covers which prevent the Pools from being used when covered. If the Pool is a hot tub, jacuzzi or whirlpool, it shall be covered with a rigid locked cover when the hot tub, jacuzzi or whirlpool is not in use, provided that no such cover shall be required if such Pool is enclosed in accordance with the International Swimming Pool and Spa Code, as incorporated by Section 5-1024.2.

F. Temporary Buildings, such as contractors' sheds and Buildings of like character, will be permitted during Construction of Buildings but not to exceed the duration of the building permit, upon approval of the City Administrator.

G. Solar Energy Systems.

H. Antennas.

I. Fences, Walls and Retaining Walls.
