A. The minimum rear yard shall have a minimum depth based upon LS classification and/or whether a lot is a corner lot as set forth below:

1. The following requirements apply to lots that are not corner lots:

(a) LS-1, LS-2 and LS-3: The minimum rear yard shall have a minimum depth of 20 percent of the depth of the lot at any given point.

(b) LS-4, LS-5, LS-6 and LS-7: The minimum rear yard shall have a minimum depth of 30 percent of the depth of the lot at any given point.

2. For corner lots of any LS classification, the minimum rear yard shall have a minimum depth of 15 percent of the depth of the lot at any given point.

B. Detached accessory buildings may be located in the rear yard; provided, that the detached accessory building is located at least 10 feet from the side and rear property lines; and provided further, that the aggregate area occupied by all detached accessory buildings in the rear yard shall be no more than 20 percent of the total minimum rear yard area.

C. Accessory structures, other than patios, decks, outdoor recreational facilities and pools, may be located in the rear yard; provided, that no accessory structure or other structure, except a driveway, a small dish antenna, a walkway, a fence, a wall or retaining wall, or a gate, shall be located closer than 10 feet from the side and rear property lines. Artificial turf is prohibited in the rear yard, except as provided in Section 5-132.B.8.

D. Patios, decks, outdoor recreational facilities, pools, and outdoor fire pits and fireplaces may be located in the rear yard; provided, that the patio, deck, outdoor recreational facility, pool, or outdoor fire pit or fireplace is located (1) at least 20 feet from the side and rear property lines (except for LS-1 lots, for which the setback is at least 15 feet from the side and rear property lines); and (2) at least 60 feet from the front property line.

E. Play equipment may be located in the rear yard at least 10 feet from the side and rear property lines. [Ord. 1626 §§ 3, 4, 11-14-22.]
